Tykes are 'an enigma' to Robins

Argentinian midfielder Hugo Colace pounced, after Leicester goalkeeper Chris Weale had saved brilliantly to keep out Ryan Shotton's 77th-minute header, to steer home the only goal of the game from close range.Barnsley bounced back from three straight defeats, including their third round FA Cup exit at Scunthorpe, that had threatened to halt their progress under the former Rotherham boss. But Robins claims his side would be challenging for the play-offs if they could maintain their best form for the full 90 minutes.Robins said: "I'm very pleased with that because (chairman) Mr Cryne has been reminding me we only got one point in January last season. I've got that monkey off my back."He added: "If we can play for 90 minutes like we did in the second half we might be touching the play-offs."We're a bit of an enigma at the moment. Maybe it's a confidence thing I don't know, but we believe in them, I think the supporters get behind them and they've got to start believing in themselves."The Tykes were clearly on top in the second half following a dismal first period - neither side mustered a shot in the first 28 minutes - and had successive headers from Shotton and skipper Stephen Foster cleared off the goalline by Foxes midfielder Matt Oakley.Robins spared a mention for his striker Iain Hume, who ran himself into the ground against his former club.Robins said: "He worked his socks off and it's good for him psychologically because he's got 90 minutes under his belt."That's what Iain's all about, he's all action and he kept our play flowing."Leicester, who started the game just one point off the play-offs, have yet to taste victory in the Championship in 2010 and followed up their own disappointing FA Cup exit at Cardiff on Saturday with another below par performance.Dany N'Guessan went close with two first half chances, but manager Nigel Pearson admitted his side were going through "a difficult time".Pearson said: "We're disappointed, but we're having a bit of a difficult time at the moment and we have to get back to basics."We conceded from a set play which is disappointing because in the first half and late on we had chances to get something out of it."But there you are. We take it on the chin and move on."
