Levein looking to lure Ferguson back

Levein, whose first game in charge comes against the Czech Republic on March 3, has confirmed Boyd and McGregor are in his plans following talks with the Rangers pair. And he hopes to sit down and discuss the possible return of Birmingham midfielder Ferguson in the coming weeks."I very much want him to be part of the international set-up, I think he's one of our best players," Levein told BBC Radio Scotland.Boyd withdrew his services to former manager George Burley after being consistently overlooked, and Levein's predecessor sidelined McGregor and Ferguson after the "boozegate" saga."I have had contact with all three in various different guises," Levein said. "Once there is any definite information with regard to Barry, then I will let you know."The other two have already stated that they do want to come back and play for the national team."As far as I'm concerned, they will be considered for the Czech Republic game."Levein has held initial talks with Ferguson and hopes to secure his comeback with a face-to-face meeting in the near future."I saw him play a couple of weeks ago and he did very well," the former Hearts boss said. "Funnily enough, I bumped into him more than anything else and had a brief discussion with him but that's not the same as having a meeting with somebody."I hope to get round the table and find out exactly where we are."I hope to get down to Birmingham very soon and sit down with, not just Barry, but James McFadden as well."I've been travelling around the country meeting a lot of players. The plan is to try to get round everybody before I name the squad for the game on March 3."
