No easy street on way to Wembley FA Cup glory – Everton boss David Moyes

Dan Gosling celebrates his winning goal against Liverpool 460NOBODY could accuse Everton of taking an easy route to last season's FA Cup final. The Blues' achievement of reaching Wembley in May came via hard-fought defeats over Liverpool, Aston Villa, Middlesbrough and Manchester United. That they should then draw Chelsea in the main event only served to underline the severity of the task David Moyes faced in fulfilling his yearning desire to win a trophy at Everton. But the Goodison Park boss suspects this time around it could be harder than ever to win the famous old pot.He said: 'We all really enjoyed the way the Cup went, the feeling of it, the momentum it built and we want a chance to do that again.' It can be taken away from you very quickly so you can't build your hopes up too much. You can only win your next game.'Last year, every game we thought was a tough draw, we never thought throughout the run that we had an easy game, yet we got through. You can't take the FA Cup for granted.'Moyes feels that big-spending clubs like Manchester City will be determined to win the trophy to justify their investment levels with a league win out of the question. He said: 'I think the FA Cup has become harder to win now. Everybody is trying to win the cup competitions. Look at the teams who are spending hundreds of millions - maybe just to win a cup.'It puts it into perspective. It's not an easy thing to do.' If you're in the Champions League you might try and get through the early rounds of the League Cup with a lesser side, but in the FA Cup I don't think there's one team in the Premier League who doesn't want to win it and would say it isn't important to them.
