Yeates eager to make an impact

The 25-year-old former Middlesbrough winger has signed a two-and-a-half year deal at Bramall Lane just six months after arriving at the Riverside from Colchester.Yeates said: "I just can't wait to get out on the training pitch and, hopefully, I can do enough to force my way into the gaffer's plan for the Reading game, because I'm cup-tied at the weekend."Yeates, who appeared as a second-half substitute in Middlesbrough's FA Cup defeat to Manchester City, added: "Looking at Sheffield United, they're in a strong position in the play-off places and it's a massive opportunity for me, personally, and this club to get back into the Premiership."As a footballer you're never surprised at what happens, but I would be lying if I said I was expecting all this to be going off at this time, but I'm just over the moon to be here."Yeates was signed by former Middlesbrough manager Gareth Southgate in the summer, but has struggled to hold down a place in Gordon Strachan's starting line-up.
