Diamond hopes hell is behind him

Diamond, 24, has been out since the opening day of the season, initially with a long-standing ankle problem which required surgery and then with a broken nose suffered in a freak accident in training. But he is now fully fit and hoping to play some part in Saturday's Scottish Premier League game with Killie."You come back and you break your nose and you wonder if it is your season," he said."Hopefully, with 2009 over now, the six months of hell is behind me."I just want to get back on that pitch."We're coming to the business end of the season and if I can contribute to the team then I'll be very happy."Diamond, who revealed he had been "kicking every ball" watching the Dons from the sidelines, added: "It's been a long lay-off."It feels as if I've done three pre-seasons in the one season."I'm delighted to be back in amongst the boys."I can't wait to be involved, hopefully on Saturday."If not then the next coming weeks."If Diamond does feature this weekend, it is likely to be from the bench. He said: "I'd be unfair to dismantle a team that's done reasonably well."But you're always champing at the bit to get back playing."
