Venus: McGeady could be sold

Manager Tony Mowbray last week told McGeady's suitors they would be wasting their time even picking up the phone to enquire about the winger's availability. That was amid reports Birmingham boss Alex McLeish - who recent did just that - was preparing an £8million bid for Celtic's star player.Mowbray's assistant Venus does not want to lose McGeady but acknowledged the size of any offer would ultimately determine whether he stayed at Parkhead."Everyone undoubtedly knows that he's a very, very good player," Venus said."I thoroughly enjoy working with him every day in training."His appetite for the game and his desire for training and football is fantastic and I don't personally believe he's the type of player that we want to lose."But every footballer has a price, I would suggest at any football club."So it would be folly of me to sit here and say to you that there's no way Aiden McGeady's leaving."But I would suggest it would probably take a lot of money."Venus claimed to know nothing about reports linking Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos with a loan move to Celtic. The out-of-favour Senderos has expressed a desire to quit the Emirates Stadium.Venus said: "It's a name that gets bandied around always."In this month especially, there are more and more names put in the papers every day."Even I look forward to coming in and reading them to see who we're going to sign!"He added of Celtic's reported interest in Senderos: "I don't know whether there is or isn't."
