Mega-rich Manchester City's wage bill soars to an incredible £82m a year

Manchester City's wage bill rocketed by more than 50 per cent even before last summer's £120million outlay on new players, it emerged yesterday. City's financial results for the year ending May 31 2009, had already revealed that owner Sheik Mansour dipped into his vast wealth to wipe out the club's £305m debt. That was before City went on another spending spree last summer.
