May backs new boys to make mark

The pair will make their debuts in the SPL clash at Celtic Park on Saturday, while former West Brom winger Jack Compton is also pushing for a first start. The match will provide an ideal opportunity for former Celtic and Sunderland player Healy to prove he can still compete at a good level after making just three Championship appearances this season."The two of them will play," May said. "They are imposing and will make a big difference for us."They are experienced and they have quality. Colin has played at a number of clubs at a very good level, and he is more than determined."He is only 29 and I'm sure he'll do extremely well in Scotland."People have written and said on the TV that he's a failure down there. I think people forget it's the fifth biggest league in the world."Showunmi scored six goals in 28 appearances for Leeds after signing from Bristol City, but he struggled to win his place back after suffering a blood clot on his lung just over a year ago.May believes the 27-year-old has displayed great desire to play by negotiating his release from Elland Road."He has shown his commitment," May added. "He never got released from Leeds, he wanted to leave."We've taken him on board full-time and we'll revise that in March, depending on where we are in the league and whether we can afford him."He's taken a massive gamble but I'm sure it will pay off."Just because he's 6ft 5in, we are not just going to kick the ball up the park."He is strong, he is very good on the ball, so I'm really looking forward to him showing people what he can do."May has refused to rule out additional signings after a share issue helped fund his latest arrivals."You can never say never," he said. "We will review it, we have still got a couple of weeks to go."While bottom club Falkirk will be huge underdogs against Celtic, May feels his team have gone from strength to strength since their 3-3 draw against Tony Mowbray's men in November."It certainly improved us a lot," the former Hibernian midfielder said."The expectation from the players has certainly risen since then."I can safely say we are a better team now than we were 10 weeks ago."It's a fantastic arena to play your football and we are more than determined to play there again next season." Celtic 1/6, Draw 6/1, Falkirk 14/1
