Dargo tips McGinn for Hornets glory

McGinn rejected a new offer from the Paisley club back in October and was quickly linked with a move south of the border. Both clubs agreed a fee this week, with the 21-year-old signing a two-and-a-half year deal on Friday after passing a medical. And, despite admitting the loss of one of their key players is a blow, Dargo insists the youngster fully deserves his big break."He is a loss," said the Saints striker."He is a very good player and a talented youngster. You want to keep your best players at the club and we would rather he was still here."But he deserves it, he's a good lad and we wish him all the best. He has all the right qualities going for him and I think he will do well down there."He is still young, which you've got to remember, and I think he can go far."Boss Gus MacPherson is now waiting to hear whether the sale of McGinn will free up funds for him to strengthen his own squad this month and Dargo added: "Some new players would be nice - as long as they are not strikers."Seriously, that would depend on whether the manager gets the money available to bring new faces."Of course it's good for the team to bring in new faces, it always spices things up a bit and adds extra competition for places."Saints travel to Tynecastle this weekend aiming for their second win of the season over Hearts after their last meeting with the Jambos provided their long-awaited first win at the new stadium they moved into last January."We believe in what we can do and we believe we can get results against anybody," said Dargo."Fair enough, it took us a while to get our first league win at the new stadium but we beat Celtic in the cup here."It was good to get the win and, once we beat Hearts in the league, we have gone from strength to strength and won a few more games."We expect at hard game because it's at Tynecastle and the atmosphere is always good there and they are tough opposition there."It's going to be a tough ask for us to go there but we've had three wins on the bounce and are looking to continue our good run."Saints have notched up wins over Kilmarnock, Alloa and Aberdeen in their last three outings and Dargo added: "We have played a lot better at times and come away with nothing."Maybe the last three games haven't been our best performances but we have won the games."Sometimes when you can win when you are playing badly, you can take it on from there."We are not complaining anyway and we would take another poor performance and three points any day." Hearts 4/5, Draw 5/2, St Mirren 7/2
