Pulis: Clarets won't be affected

Pulis is expecting a businesslike attitude from the Clarets when the two sides meet at Turf Moor on Saturday, should the match go ahead given the frozen conditions across the country.Although Burnley are currently in managerial limbo, with long-time club servant Steve Davis in charge, Pulis believes he will be barely able to see the join."The king is dead, long live the king," he remarked. "It can be difficult for a manager to take his team to a club where there has been a change of manager because you just don't know what the reaction is going to be like."But players just get on with it. They are resilient and Burnley have also appointed Steve, who has been part of what Owen was doing, so there's only a little change."We'll just have to approach it in the right manner, in the right way, as we do all games."The most important thing is you should always try and affect things you can affect."I can't affect what Burnley or Steve are going to do, or what the players are going to be like."The only thing I can affect is how we will be and our attitude and approach to the game."Defender Ryan Shawcross fears Coyle's exit may even act as a spur, with the players at least having had time to shrug off the initial shock."It will have come as a blow to them, but if anything it will bring them together even more and they'll be desperate to come out and show that life goes on without him," said Shawcross."Steve Davis will take charge for the game and I'm sure he will be desperate to get a good result and put his name in the mix for the job."He is well liked by the fans and players so he, like the rest of them, will be desperate for a win."They have a very good home record, so we can't afford to take anything for granted."They are similar to us in many ways because they have turned their place into something of a fortress, so we have to go there and be professional, give them respect, but hopefully get the job done."According to Pulis, there is every chance of the game going ahead, even though Burnley was snowbound earlier in the week."Burnley have said it's more likely now than it was yesterday," said Pulis."They'll make the decision, and we're hoping they'll make a nice early one, one way or another."Pulis may well have Tuncay Sanli available, despite the fact the striker limped out of Tuesday's 3-2 win over Fulham late in the first half with a hamstring problem after opening the scoring in the 12th minute."We've had good news on that," remarked Pulis."He's had a scan and it's not as bad as we thought because we felt there might be a tear."There isn't, so we're pleased and he has an outside chance of being fit."
