Palace bring in extra pitch covers

Several football and rugby matches have already been postponed this week but Palace have brought in extra pitch covers and heaters to ensure the playing surface does not freeze.A statement from the Eagles said: "In preparation for the heavy snow and the below freezing temperatures which have hit south-east London this week, the club proactively worked with local suppliers to bring in extra pitch covers and heaters to help the playing surface."This additional equipment is in place to do everything possible to beat the big freeze in south-east London for our match against Bristol City on Saturday, kick-off 3pm."
