Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini keen on Patrick Vieira

The Inter Milan midfielder, 33, spent two years under Mancini at the San Siro and the Manchester City manager now wants the former Arsenal captain to bolster his squad on a short-term basis until the end of the season. Vieira, who is also a target for Lyon, is keen to return to England to play for Mancini and he could be joined by Inter team-mate Ivan Cordoba who has also expressed an interest in leaving Italy for City. Micah Richards is likely to overcome a groin injury to face Manchester United in the Carling Cup semi-final first leg tomorrow, while the Belgian, Dedryck Boyata, could retain his place at centre-half after impressing in Saturday's FA Cup win at Middlesbrough.
