Sheridan fumes at Spireites display

The clash between the two promotion hopefuls was plunged into doubt before kick-off following the inclement weather, leading Sheridan to give his ground staff a helping hand to ensure the game went ahead.Referee David Phillips inspected the Saltergate pitch twice before giving his approval and Sheridan admitted he was eager for the match to take place. The Spireites were condemned to their second successive defeat, though, and Sheridan was left frustrated by a below-par display from his players."I wanted the game on, I love football. And I wanted us to try and get a positive result. I was very confident that we would do that so I'm very disappointed as we didn't," said Sheridan."It was a poor performance. I didn't think we got going. I made some changes to try and give us a bit of a start but that didn't happen. For some reason we just didn't get going until they got a man sent off and performance wise, it was probably our worst of the season."
