Newcastle turn to Helguson after Leeds rebuff £1.25m Beckford bid

Newcastle are considering a move for Heidar Helguson after having a £1.25million bid for Leeds United striker Jermaine Beckford rejected. Iceland striker Helguson, 32, is on loan from QPR at Watford. Beckford, 26, is out of contract at the end of the season but Leeds are determined to keep him.
