Jones grateful to 'brilliant' fans

Thousands of fans have taken advantage of an idea by Jones to refund any 2010/11 season tickets purchased before December 31 should Cardiff secure promotion to the Premier League come May.Although exact numbers are still to be calculated, the Bluebirds are expected to have come extremely close to reaching their 10,000 target - with a club-record 1,000 season tickets sold on Wednesday alone. The money raised from the sales will go towards Cardiff's January war chest, with Jones in line to receive an estimated boost of around £3million.He told the club's official website: "It says everything about how brilliant our fans really are. It also shows that everybody here is together and that's the most important thing."The chairman has promised that all the money that comes in will go to bringing in players. He was up here on Wednesday and took a list of players and now he's got to go out and try to get them - players we feel we can get and we can afford."
