Varney set for Rams return

However, the 27-year-old will not be able to face Millwall in the FA Cup on Saturday as he must serve a one-match suspension after collecting his fifth yellow card of the season in Sheffield Wednesday's 2-2 home draw against Newcastle on Boxing Day.Varney would have served the ban on Monday but the Owls' match at Blackpool was postponed due to a frozen pitch. That would have been the final game of his loan spell at the south Yorkshire club.Varney does not appear to feature in Derby manager Nigel Clough's long-term plans and the player has said he would like to remain at Hillsborough.However, the Owls are currently awaiting the appointment of a new manager and the arrival of new investment into the club.
