Ibrox clash given green light

A successful inspection of Ibrox and surrounding areas took place on Wednesday morning by the club and Strathclyde Police. The match is one of just two games still set to go ahead, although the meeting between Hearts and Motherwell at Tynecastle is subject to a 2pm inspection.Tuesday night's clash between Aberdeen and Falkirk was postponed, while Hamilton-St Mirren, St Johnstone-Hibernian and Kilmarnock-Celtic, which were set to be played on Wednesday, have also fallen victim to the weather. With the Hoops no longer in action, victory for Walter Smith's men would allow them to open up a seven-point lead at the top of the SPL ahead of Sunday's Old Firm derby.A club statement read: "Tonight's match is definitely on."Groundstaff have been working on the surrounding areas and there was a successful pre-match inspection of the stadium and its environs at 11am this morning."
