Monk keen for Trundle to stay

Manager Paulo Sousa admits he is keen to extend the 33-year-old's spell at the club, and skipper Monk, who also played with Trundle during the striker's first spell at the club, says it would be nothing less than he deserves."Everyone knows Trunds is a legend at this club - but he's had to start with a clean slate," he told the Western Mail. "He's come here on loan and made no bones about the fact he wants to stay - and I think he's done everything asked of him."He's got five goals and you can't knock that, especially when most of his appearances have come off the subs bench."But I think just as important is the work he's put in since he's come back. He's fitting straight into what we're trying to do as a squad and he's definitely got that hunger to do well."He's slimmed down a lot and he's probably the fittest I've ever seen him - you can see he really wants it and, if it does get agreed for him to stay on, then it's deserved."
