MacLean begins trial with Jambos
The Scottish Premier League club announced that MacLean would be assessed by manager Csaba Laszlo this week.Laszlo is desperate to add firepower to his team with Christian Nade his top-scoring striker on two goals this season.MacLean's arrival at Hearts' Riccarton training ground will come as a blow to Aberdeen manager Mark McGhee, who tried to sign the 27-year-old in the summer.McGhee has recently stepped up efforts to sign MacLean and Pilgrims team-mate Jim Paterson on pre-contract deals but is unlikely to be able to afford an immediate transfer.Former Rangers trainee MacLean signed for Plymouth in January 2008 after playing for Scunthorpe, Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff.But the Edinburgh-born forward has made only four appearances this season.
