Wolves hitman targets Anfield upset

With the Reds having lost seven of their 18 games so far this season, Doyle thinks Wolves should be heading for Merseyside believing then can pull off an upset.Mick McCarthy's side have won three of their last four games to move into 12th place in the Premier League and Doyle is desperate to keep that good run going in the next two matches against Liverpool and Manchester City. The 26-year-old, who has scored twice in the last three games to take his tally for the season to five, said: "Liverpool are having a tough run."It will be a great game for us as we are full of confidence at the moment."Portsmouth, who are below us in the table, have just beaten Liverpool and I think that everyone can see it is not an easy league this season."But to be honest, I go everywhere thinking that I can win."Whether that is realistic I don't know. But it shows it can happen with the results this season."Manchester United were beaten by Fulham last weekend, Portsmouth, as I said, beat Liverpool so why can't we go to Liverpool and beat them?"I suppose even though Liverpool are under pressure they will still be favourites. But we still have a good chance."We then follow that game by playing against a Manchester City side who have got a new manager so hopefully it will be a good time to play them."Wolves are on a high after their run of three wins in four games and Doyle has revealed a heart-to-heart among the players after their dismal 1-0 defeat against Birmingham on November 29 has been the key to the turnaround in their fortunes."After losing to Birmingham City, as a group of players we sat down together, cleared the air and haven't looked back since," said Doyle, who cost Wolves a club record £6.5million from Reading last summer.Doyle's goals have helped as well and he hopes to stay on target to keep Wolves clear of the relegation zone.McCarthy has challenged Doyle to get into double figures this season. The Republic of Ireland international marksman believes that is a realistic target - but at the moment all he is focused on is taking his tally to six.Doyle added: "I've been happy with how I've been playing."I've enjoyed virtually every game we've played apart from the one against Birmingham City."I enjoy how we're trying to play and scoring goals is massively important for a striker."It's a great feeling and it gives you such a confidence boost, but overall I've been happy with the way I've played, whether I've scored or not."I don't really set goalscoring targets - my only target now is to get that sixth goal."But in my first Premier League season at Reading I got 13 and I missed a couple of months too, so getting to double figures is possible as long as I keep working hard and playing well and the team do as well."As long as I keep putting in decent performances, hopefully the chances will keep coming."
