Hull City chairman Adam Pearson defends players' reaction to fracas at Arsenal

Pearson went on the offensive after Hull City and Arsenal were both charged by Soho Square officials with failing to control their players following a mêlée during the Gunners' 3-0 win at the Emirates last weekend. The fracas occurred in front of referee Steve Bennett just before half-time when Samir Nasri appeared to tread on the ankle of Hull's Australian winger Richard Garcia.  Related ArticlesHull City v Manchester United: match previewArsenal and Hull charged over ugly clashNasri escapes punishmentWenger: Giggs player of decadeWenger to buy striker in JanuaryAfrican Cup bluesThe former Leeds director said: 'We expected nothing less. Presumably we should all just accept it when a player gets kicked for no reason at all off the ball."It is a passionate game and if the FA see fit to charge us for that reaction to a very poor challenge then we will accept that charge and move on together as a team. 'God forbid what will happen if we actually provoke an incident. In a practicable way I am glad our guys care enough to look after their team-mates. 'We know at Hull City that we have to respect referees and we do, but just sometimes in the heat of a game you have to look after your team-mates as well.'
