Terrors will seek Levein job advice

Levein has been given permission to hold talks with the Scottish Football Association about becoming the new national team boss and could meet with Hampden chiefs this week.United chairman Stephen Thompson has not given up hope of retaining the services of his manager but would welcome Levein's suggestions for a new boss if he does leave the Tayside club.Thompson told the Dundee Evening Telegraph: "Craig and I have a very honest and open relationship and at the weekend we had a long chat about the situation."We want to keep him, that's obvious, but for me it is important that, whatever happens, we maintain that relationship."He is someone we rate very highly and, because of that, I would be more than happy to listen to any suggestions he had regarding a successor, if it was to come to that."That is not to say I would pay heed to his recommendation, but, with his knowledge of the game, he is worth listening to."
