Larsson: Contract talks are ongoing

The Sweden international has become an integral part of the Blues' plans since joining the club from Arsenal in 2007.His ability from set-pieces, combined with outstanding creative instincts, has made him the heartbeat of Alex McLeish's midfield.Understandably, Birmingham are keen to keep the 24-year-old at St Andrew's for as long as possible and are hoping he will put pen to paper on a new deal."We are in negotiations with Birmingham, but I am trying to focus on my football," Larsson told Expressen. The influential Swede has played a leading role in Birmingham's recent fine run of form, with the Blues unbeaten in their last nine Premier League outings. That run has helped to raise morale around St Andrews and has sparked talk of a possible push for European qualification."We are playing with confidence and it's really fun to play football right now," added Larsson."Our confidence is very high and that makes you grow as a team. We believe in what we do and work hard for each other." Chelsea 8/15, Draw 11/4, Birmingham 6/1
