Wally with the brolly ex-England boss Steve McClaren eyes Spanish job

Interest: Steve McClaren Former England boss Steve McClaren is set to turn his back on the Barclays Premier League and continue his exile with a move to Spain's La Liga. McClaren, forced to rebuild his reputation abroad after being fired as national coach, has been such a success in his 18 months at FC Twente that the Dutch club offered him a new three-year deal. He rejected it but did agree a 12-month extension in a compromise that alerted several Premier League clubs, most notably Bolton, to his availability possibly at the end of next season. But Twente president Joop Munsterman dashed their hopes by revealing the former Middlesbrough manager's intentions, saying: 'Steve's made it clear he wants to broaden his horizons and he sees his next job being in another foreign country, probably Spain.'
