Dons chief wants to make history

Winkelman says his task over the next few years is to "grow the football club" in order to fill the World Cup standard 44,000-seater stadium, and he is confident the Dons will justify such a home by the time the world's best players may be in attendance."It's reward for the emphasis that the city of Milton Keynes has put on football and its development," he said."The city wasn't even on the map when we hosted the World Cup in 1966 so this will be a huge part of the history of Milton Keynes."We have got a role to play, stadium:mk is only halfway there at the moment but people have seen the quality of it and we have the record of delivering the infrastructure."Meanwhile, it has been announced that MK Dons' Johnstone's Paint Trophy area final first leg against Southampton will be televised live on Sky on Wednesday January 20 at 7pm.
