Spurs manager Redknapp won't punish Assou-Ekotto for bust-up with fan

Tottenham Hotspur boss Harry Redknapp will take no further action against Benoit Assou-Ekotto following his altercation with a fan after Sunday's match with Wolves. Assou-Ekotto confronted the supporter next to the tunnel as he left the pitch following Spurs' 1-0 defeat against Mick McCarthy's side. The 25-year-old had to be pulled away by Spurs assistant boss Joe Jordan, who then led the Cameroon international down the tunnel. Redknapp said that he will not fine the player and is happy that the meeting will draw a line under the matter. 'There won't be any punishment,' said Redknapp, who did not see the incident. 'Joe (Jordan) was there and he said it was nothing. This guy came over, he was foreign. He said something to Benoit and Benoit reacted to it. 'Whatever he said, that was it and there was no violence or anything.
