More misery for Quakers

Darlington's miserable season hit another new low, as they lost their fifth successive league game after being demolished by 5-0 Torquay. The home side were on of the sides Quakers felt they were capable of catching at the foot of League Two. But hope for Steve Staunton's side is fast running out. They lie 11 points behind third-bottom Lincoln with a far worse goal difference. Staunton has won just two games since taking over and Quakers, who have used an astonishing 41 players this season, appear doomed. Chris Zebroski volleyed in the first and then set up Wayne Carlisle to double the lead, before Scott Rendell headed in Jake Thomson's corner. The Gulls piled on the pressure as Carlisle's hooked shot bounced off the bar for Zebroski to nod in the fourth. Substitute Elliot Benyon made it five when he collected Thomson's cross from the right to volley home from 15 yards.
