Carroll returns to starting line-up

ANDY CARROLL returned to the Newcastle United starting line-up at Barnsley on Saturday after missing out on the win at Coventry following his arrest over an alleged assault in the city centre last weekend. Manager Chris Hughton also brought Kevin Nolan and Ryan Taylor into his starting XI with strikers Shola Ameobi and Peter Lovenkrands along with full-back Danny Simpson dropping to the bench. Hughton, who celebrated his 51st birthday on Friday, was going in search of the Magpies eighth win a row which would be their best run in the league since the 1992/93 season.
