Coyle calls for goal-line technology

Coyle - who was amazed Herman Hreidarsson was awarded a penalty in the Clarets' 2-0 defeat - admitted the more general use of television replays might prove disruptive in determining major decisions in open play. But when it comes to whether the ball has crossed the line or not, Coyle believes the time has come to make the most of technology."I think this penalty (awarded after the challenge on Hreidarsson) will be easy for us to decide on," Coyle told the Lancashire Telegraph."But there will be times that we'll look at penalties and you and I might watch it four or five times and have a different opinion on it."How long do you wait before someone makes a decision? And even then it might be a wrong one."I'm certainly not for every contentious decision that happens because we've got the best game in the world and we've got it because it's fast and free-flowing."But goal-line technology is certainly black and white. If the ball crosses the line it's a goal, if it doesn't it's not."
