Kaka would need more than money to leave AC Milan says Juninho

The former Middlesbrough playmaker has insisted that it would require a lot more than hard cash to attract his former international colleague to leave behind a club of AC Milan's stature for City."He will want to be the Fifa World Player of the Year again and that will mean he wants to play for a team that is winning titles and competing in the Champions League," Juninho told Telegraph Sport."Everyone knew that it would not only be money that Kaka was concerned about. He would have wanted to be confident about the plan for the future at Manchester City. He would want big players to be involved. It's not just about the money."Kaka would need to be convinced about City's strategy because it needs more than two world-class players to win a title. Of course, players like Robinho and Kaka would make a big difference to any team but what really matters is the way the team is built as a whole with lots of good players involved."He would have wanted to see what opportunities there were at Manchester City and decide what he wants because to be honest for them to become a club like AC Milan it would take a long, long time. It would not have taken three or four years but a lot longer for them to become as strong as AC Milan." The 35-year-old Juninho, helped Brazil win the 2002 World Cup alongside Kaka, had a huge impact on English football with Boro – where he spent three spells – and played an integral role in securing the Carling Cup for the Riverside club in 2004."I worked with Kaka with Brazil and I know that he is a great guy as well as being a tremendous player," Juninho added."He's quiet and he likes to stay home but he works hard on his game so I don 't think he would have struggled to deal with the difference between Italy and England. It would not have been a problem for him – not even the physical side of English football."To become the World Player of the Year again he just needs to continue playing the way he has been. But there is more competition for that now with [Cristiano] Ronaldo, [Lionel] Messi who are ahead of him and [Fernando] Torres." Juninho's only regret is that his compatriot will not be lighting up places like the Riverside."Kaka would have liked Middlesbrough and the atmosphere at all the English grounds," Juninho concluded."The first time I came to England was due to the interest shown in me by Bryan Robson and the second and third time I went back because I adapted very well to the club and the people there. It always felt like home because I was made to feel so welcome."Since my time the English Premier League has become the best league in Europe – better than Spain and Italy but Kaka would have done well, just like Robinho who is doing well as an individual even though his club are struggling. It would have been a great challenge."
