Delaney targets rapid Ipswich rise

The former QPR man has shone in his preferred position of centre-half in recent weeks as Roy Keane's side have embarked on a seven-match unbeaten run. A win at Bristol City this weekend could lift them out of the relegation zone and Delaney is in confident mood.He told the club's official website: "That is the first aim, to get out of the bottom three."The games come thick and fast through December and there are a lot of points at stake but if we can keep going with the run we are on and pick up more wins then we'll see where it takes us."We are only 12 points off the play-offs but that is a long way off at the moment."Of course we can close the gap but one step at a time and the first priority is to get away from danger."
