Tottenham looked too lethargic against Manchester United, says Harry Redknapp

Complaining the match, which ended 2-0 in Manchester United's favour, was more like watching a friendly than a cup quarter-final, Redknapp refused to attend the post match press conference 'for fear of saying something he might regret'. But the 62 year-old eventually broke his silence and warned his side that they had let a golden opportunity to avenge last season's Carling Cup final heartache go to waste.  Related ArticlesManchester United 2 Tottenham 0Ferguson calls on Carling Cup kids to reach finalNemanja Vidic acts as United's rock of agesFletcher: Ryan Giggs a 'legend' at Manchester UnitedSpurs to face United without Pavlyuchenko"There was no atmosphere in the stadium. It was like a practice match and it was played at a real lethargic pace," he said. "We didn't make a tackle in the first half. That's how the game was. I've never been to Old Trafford and seen an atmosphere like this. The thing never got going. "It was a cup quarter-final, but it was flat. There was not a tackle in the first half. No-one made a tackle. It was like a friendly game. I don't know why it was like that, I really don't know. "We dominated in the first half, but came in 2-0 down. They had two shots on goal and scored twice. I was disappointed because we have been playing so well." With Tottenham now out of the competition, Redknapp insisted his squad could channel all their focus into to ensuring a fourth place finish in the league in order to qualify for next season's Champions League. Currently sitting third behind United and Chelsea, Redknapp said: "Wembley is a great day out but I would love to get into a Champions League position with Spurs. "You can win a cup and have a bit of luck on the way but to get to a Champions League position would be done through a whole season. It would be great for us."
