Chamakh back in the frame as Wenger looks to boost his Arsenal strikeforce

Arsene Wenger is set to revive his interest in Bordeaux striker Marouane Chamakh in a desperate attempt to revive his misfring Gunners. The Arsenal boss admits his concern at failing to score in back-to-back Barclays Premier League defeats by Chelsea and Sunderland following injury to star striker Robin van Persie. With the Holland international now ruled out for up to five months and Nicklas Bendtner also struggling with a groin strain, Wenger is contemplating adding to his attacking options when the transfer window opens in January. London calling: Chamakh (right) is back on Arsenal's radarThe Frenchman remains an admirer of Chamakh, but a summer pursuit turned ugly when he refused to bid even half of Bordeaux's £15million asking price and later withdrew his interest because he thought the Morocco international would struggle to get a game at the Emirates Stadium. The landscape has changed, however, and Chamakh could be available at a knockdown price as he is out of contract in the summer.   However, the 25-year-old has indicated a willingness to sign a new deal with the French champions, who are again leading the way in Ligue 1 and going well in the Champions League. Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Triaud may be reluctant to do business with Wenger, meaning Arsenal are looking at other options, reports French newspaper L'Equipe. Sportsmail revealed in the summer that Arsenal were trying to do a deal for Toulouse striker Andre-Pierre Gignac and the 23-year-old remains on Wenger's hit list.
