Adams rues lack of 'cutting edge'

Nathan Clarke's first-half overhead kick was enough to see off the Valiants, despite Marc Richards missing a fine chance for the home side."We had the first real chance of the game and didn't take it," said Adams."I told the players we would have to take our chances when they came because you don't get many against good teams."The other big disappointment was the way we conceded the goal. We didn't defend properly and didn't show enough aggression to get the ball clear."At half-time I asked my players to turn the game into a real cup tie. They did try to do that and had quite a bit of pressure, but the final ball into the box let us down on numerous occasions. We pinned them back, but you need a cutting edge and we didn't find one."
