Megson blasts 'pathetic' Bolton fans after abuse over Blackburn comeback

Bolton boss Gary Megson has launched a broadside at the Wanderers fans who abused him after seeing victory thrown away at Blackburn last night. Thanks for all your support: Gary Megson gestures to the Bolton fans after the 2-2 draw at Blackburn on Wednesday night. After 65 minutes Bolton were on course to haul themselves away from the Barclays Premier League relegation zone as they led 2-0 thanks to goals from Matt Taylor and Kevin Davies. But Rovers, led by former Wanderers manager Sam Allardyce, salvaged a point, with Benni McCarthy nicking an 87th-minute equaliser after having a 70th-minute penalty saved by Jussi Jaaskelainen.Blackburn even came close to stealing the win in injury time, only for captain Ryan Nelsen's header to hit the base of a post. That prompted the visiting supporters to turn on Megson, who feels they are undermining him and the players with their taunts as they fight to beat the drop.'I've had to cope with it for a long time and I don't like it. It's pathetic,' countered Megson in The Bolton News. 'The reaction to myself is absolutely astounding.'The players are having to cope with it and it makes it difficult. When they are slaughtering me it makes the players angry.' Blackburn 2 Bolton 2: Last-gasp McCarthy saves AllardyceBOLTON WANDERERS FC NEWS FROM ACROSS THE NETBLACKBURN ROVERS FC NEWS FROM ACROSS THE NET
