Arsenal return gives Chelsea's reformed striker Anelka a title buzz

It is nearly 12 years since Nicolas Anelka lifted the Premier League trophy as a teenage tearaway famed as much for scowling as his goalscoring at Arsenal. When he returns to north London on Sunday, there will be a title buzz again as Chelsea bid to move 11 points clear of Arsenal with a win at the Emirates Stadium. Anelka, wise after a restless decade of club-hopping, said: 'You have to appreciate the good times. Sometimes you have only one chance in your life to win the title. Now I have a second chance. Familiar face: Chelsea star Nicolas Anelka (left) and in his Arsenal days (right)'When you first play football, you want to win everything, even if you have success. I have waited for that second title in England. I have won the FA Cup with Chelsea but I hope this year, it will be the title. This is a big club with big players. I think we can do it.' Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger may not recognise the man he signed as a 17-year-old from Paris St Germain, who played a key role in the Double win in 1998 and then agitated for a £23million transfer to Real Madrid a year later. This is a vastly different Anelka: at peace with himself, enjoying life and thriving in a potent partnership with Didier Drogba. And there is more to his game these days than blistering pace and a hunger for goals. Anelka, who scored Chelsea's winner in the Champions League victory at Porto on Wednesday, added: 'When you're older, you know better what to do on the pitch. I used to be a real striker, just staying up front. Now, I can play on the left, the right or in the middle. I've changed my game and my mentality.'  If we were playing now, red cards would fly!
