Heys: Stanley need to improve pitch

The League Two game was called off after heavy rainfall left the pitch unplayable despite hard work to make sure the game went ahead."It is a major disappointment. And we do need to look to a significant investment in the summer," chief executive Heys told the Lancashire Telegraph."We have worked on the pitch and had a machine in and at 3pm it was fine. But the rain between 4pm and 5pm left the referee with no option."Everyone was ready for the game and there will be no-one more disappointed than Coley (manager John Coleman) and the players because they want to play games of football."
