Miller insists Gers can upset the odds

The striker insists he is not even entertaining the prospect of settling for Europa League football after Christmas as a consolation prize. The Scottish champions head into Tuesday's game against Stuttgart with just two points from their opening four matches but knowing a place in the last 16 is not out of reach just yet."The main aim since the start of the group has been to progress in the Champions League and it's still the same," said Miller."It's very much in our hands. If we can take care of our own results, I think it will be enough."When the group was drawn, we looked upon it as definite qualification for us and making the last 16 at least."Miller was on the scoresheet for the first time since early October as Rangers cruised to a 3-0 win over Kilmarnock at the weekend and he says confidence is high ahead of the visit of the Germans."It was a great result for us," he said."We couldn't have asked for a better result going into this game."It's a must-win game for us so it was great to get the three goals and a decent performance on Saturday."We know if we don't win, we have no chance of qualification."Boss Walter Smith usually favours Miller in a lone striker role in European matches but the must-win nature of this match means he could be tempted to opt for a two-pronged attack instead.Miller would welcome the prospect of playing alongside Kris Boyd in the Champions League and hopefully producing the form they have shown alongside each other in the SPL.Miller said: "As long as I'm alongside him, yes, I would like to see him up there."The manager picks the team for each game, he picks a team to win the game and I would never argue with him or second-guess him."He gets it right more often than not."If Boydy plays, great. We know what he brings to the team."He brings goals, he brings a goal threat, and that's something we'll need tomorrow night."Boyd's only start in the Champions League was in a qualifying match against Zeta back in July 2007 and he has never hidden his desire to play a bigger role on the continental stage.Miller added: "He wants to play in games, he wants to play in big games and it doesn't come any bigger in club football than the Champions League."For him to miss out so often, I'm sure is disappointing for him."I wouldn't say it's something he gets used to but it's maybe something he has come to live with." Rangers v VfB Stuttgart To Score in 90mins: Miller, K. 5/2
