Lincoln boss slams Cheltenham staff

After Jamie Clarke had cancelled out Justin Richards' early opener for Cheltenham in Saturday's League Two encounter, defender Brown was dismissed for a 69th-minute challenge on Town midfielder Theo Lewis, which sparked a mass confrontation between the two sets of players on the pitch. Then, as Brown made his way off, scuffles broke out as the two benches confronted each other and after a seven-minute delay, referee Graham Salisbury showed further red cards to Imps substitute Ian Pearce and Cheltenham sub Barry Richardson, neither of whom actually got onto the pitch during the game.Sutton, who was sent to the stands as a result of the same incident, said: "It was wrong. I think they were trying to influence the referee."I think that what happened is not on. Players and coaches should not be influencing the ref to send players off."Sutton, mystified as to why he was sent to the stands himself, added: "I don't really know why. I just asked the ref why he'd sent Aaron Brown off and that was all."
