Vale defender to miss Millers clash

Owen was forced off with a broken cheekbone in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy defeat at Bradford. The 27-year-old visited a specialist on Thursday to check on the severity of damage to the same cheekbone he broke while playing for Stockport in May 2008.The only other fit centre-half available to Adams is the transfer-listed Luke Prosser, which may see Vale's attentions switch to the loan market. However, there is good news for Adams, who may be able to start Doug Loft after he recovered from a calf injury. The 22-year-old midfielder was an unused substitute against Bradford.Striker Geoff Horsfield is still blighted by a groin injury.
