I'm glad Spurs didn't qualify for Europe last season, insists Kranjcar

Controversial: Niko Kranjcar says Spurs have coped better without Europa League football this seasonTottenham winger Niko Kranjcar has revealed he is delighted the club failed to qualify for the Europa League last season. The Croatian insists Everton and Fulham's current plight shows the pressures of playing in the Barclays Premier League and Europe at the same time.Fulham are currently 11th in the league table with Everton tucked in behind in 12th.Spurs, on the other hand, have had a tremendous start to this season under boss Harry Redknapp and are sitting in the Champions League places. And Kranjcar believes it is because the North Londoners are not distracted by the Europa League - a competition they struggled in last term.Kranjcar told The Daily Mirror: 'I think its definitely a good thing that we're not competing in the Europa League. We're a team that is still learning and growing, getting to know one another. 'So spending more time in training sessions I think is proving invaluable. It's obvious too that with fewer first-team matches our players are fitter. Both mentally and physically we appear fresh all of the time.' Spurs keeper Carlo Cudicini can bounce back from horror smash, says England's 1966 hero Gordon BanksCarlo Cudicini horror smash pictures: Spurs goalkeeper fights to save career after motorbike crashSpurs striker Jermain Defoe aiming to be England boss Fabio Capello's main manSPURS FC
