Crosas: Bhoys must win back fans

But the former Barcelona youngster believes they are beginning to take on board Tony Mowbray's ideas following a difficult start to the Celtic manager's reign.Crosas was promoting Celtic's half season-ticket offer, with books starting at £27 for children as the club seek to fill a ground that has lost some of its atmosphere in recent months.Celtic have won just three out of 10 home matches under Mowbray, a record that has impacted on their gates. There were around 15,000 empty seats when Celtic beat Kilmarnock in their last home match and only 18,675 turned out when Hearts knocked Celtic out of the Co-operative Insurance Cup.Crosas spoke of the advantage of playing in front of 60,000 supporters when he first came to the club but he knows they have a responsibility to bring back the crowds."That's in our hands," he said. "If you play good football, we know the fans will come. I know Celtic fans are always with the team."Of course you always want to play in front of 60,000 people, but we understand if you're not doing your best, they won't come."As well as fans staying away, there were supporters who vented their frustration after Celtic drew 3-3 at Clydesdale Bank Premier League bottom club Falkirk. But Crosas feels such criticism can force improvement."Maybe that's good for us," he said. "If you are top of the league and people want more from us that's good because we need to give more."We can't just be thinking everything's okay because we are top of the league."While Crosas admits Celtic have much to do, he does believe they are heading in the right direction."I think we have played great games as well," he said. "Maybe we need more luck or need to finish our chances."We were talking about that, maybe in a few games we had a lot of chances and didn't score enough goals."Of course we can be better but we're top of the league and that's the best thing for us."If you win the league and didn't play well in some games it doesn't matter. But it will come."Mowbray seemed to take time to appreciate Crosas' attributes with the midfielder having to wait until the 3-0 win over Killie on October 28 for his second SPL start of the season. The central midfielder then tasted his first European action of the season in the goalless draw against Hamburg in Germany. But Crosas, whose former club Barcelona have the option to buy him back at the end of the season, never considered he may have to leave Celtic."I'm 21 years old," he said. "I can't think like that. It's my second season here, there are a lot of games to play."Even if I'm not playing a lot, I started five or six games and I had my chances as well. That's when I have to do well."As a player, everybody always wants to play. When you are not, of course you are frustrated."But I understand every manager has his own ideas or likes different players. But maybe now is my time.Crosas added: "I'm just thinking about Celtic and the only thing I do with Barcelona is watch them on the TV."It's not that I don't want to go back but I'm just thinking about Celtic."
