Fir Park to host Co-op Cup semi

The match will take place on Tuesday, February 2 (kick-off 7.45pm), with the second semi between Rangers and St Johnstone played at Hampden Park the following evening (kick-off 7.35pm).Both semis were played at the national stadium last year but attracted low crowds, leading to criticism over a lack of atmosphere. However, the decision may not go down well with St Mirren boss Gus MacPherson, who wanted his side's match to be at Hampden."The players would love to play at their national stadium," MacPherson said on Monday, fearing the game would be played at Easter Road."I have experienced it as a Kilmarnock player when we played St Mirren and, although it wasn't the biggest crowd, any player would much rather have the opportunity to play at Hampden."
