Arsenal's Nicklas Bendtner requires groin surgery

The 21 year-old picked up the injury in last month's 3-0 derby win over Tottenham and had been expected to miss around a month. "I will have an operation. I don't know how long I will be out,' said the Dane. Bendtner began the season in Arsenal's starting XI as part of Arsene Wenger's new-look 4-3-3 formation. The return to fitness of Samir Nasri and Tomas Rosicky will help compensate for his time on the sidelines, and Wenger says the depth of his attacking options is a major positive.  Related ArticlesArsenal put faith in AlmuniaWenger: Robin van Persie best striker in Premier LeagueStan Kroenke gains support for Arsenal takeoverArsenal are the league's leading scorers with Robin van Persie in the form, and Wenger said: 'We can score goals from everywhere and we are a bit more versatile offensively.
