Jara tipped for the top

West Brom boss Roberto Di Matteo insists Gonzalo Jara is capable of playing in the Premier League after the Chile international's first goal for the club helped Albion to a 2-1 win at promotion rivals Leicester. Jara, a £1.4million signing from Colo Colo, scored with a swerving shot from 30 yards late in the first half to send the Baggies into the break with a two-goal lead after Graham Dorrans had put them in front just three minutes earlier. Asked if Jara could play at a higher level, Di Matteo said: ``Absolutely. He will be going to the world cup with his nation next summer." He added: ``I don't know what his best position is yet, maybe ask me at the end of the season. But his versatility is one of the reasons we signed him - to have a player that can play in a number of positions. He can play at centre-back, full-back or as a holding midfielder.'' Former Fox Joe Mattock was roundly booed on his first return to the Walkers Stadium since joining West Brom in the summer, and Di Matteo added: ``He responded fantastically for the whole game. He was very cool in the build-up to the game too.''
