Martinez wants more firepower

Wigan manager Roberto Martinez is determined to recruit a striker in the January transfer window. The Spanish boss is short of cover following the prison sentence imposed on Marlon King, with Hugo Rodallega and Jason Scotland carrying the weight of the striking duties. Martinez said: "We are light up front as we have lost Marlon King, which was unexpected. That is something we will have to look at and do something in the next window." He added: "We need to strengthen as we have lost a player and cannot leave ourselves open. "We know our budget, the money we have to spend. But it is not just about that. "It is about finding the right players and personalities. We will work on different markets to try and make things happen."
