Keane: We can have a good season

Town took 15 games to pick up their first victory in the Championship but Keane has not ruled out a surge up the table.Speaking at the Ipswich Town supporters' club's annual general meeting, he said: "With a bit more luck, we could be seven or eight points better off but despite the poor start I still believe it will be a good season."I am not ruling out anything but we have made it very difficult for ourselves to gain automatic promotion this season."If we are not in the Premier League in two years, I will have failed but I have set my heart on taking this club to promotion."It is a great club with wonderful fans and I want to be a top manager. I have made mistakes but judge me down the road."Keane, meanwhile, has confirmed he will not be repeating the mistake he made at Sunderland by bringing in too many loan signings to Portman Road.Clubs have two weeks left to make any loan signings before January and Keane is wary of having too many players not involved.Keane said: "There are no imminent loan signings and I may look to the transfer window opening in January now."I have no complaints with the owner and chief executive over the backing they are giving me but I made a mistake at Sunderland in overloading my squad."Having two or three unhappy players is okay but seven or eight ganging up can have its problems."I have to be realistic and perhaps look to letting players go before I can bring some in."
