Pepe Reina: Liverpool FC won't give up on Champions League hopes

Pepe Reina 300PEPE REINA today admitted it is a 'disgrace' that Liverpool's Champions League prospects are no longer in their own hands. The Reds looked as if they had started to salvage an impossible situation in Lyon last night when they led thanks to a thunderbolt from Ryan Babel with 40 second to go.However, another defensive mix-up once again proved costly, as Lisandro salvaged a 1-1 draw for Lyon and left Liverpool's hopes of progress hanging by a thread. They now require Lyon to beat Fiorentina in Florence on November 24 - and win their final two matches against Debrecen and the Italians - to stand any chance. That it has come to this has left Reina bitterly disappointed but, typically, he is refusing to concede that a Europa League campaign beckons.'No it's not the end,' Reina insisted. 'We have got two games to go and disgracefully we are not depending on ourselves; we need Lyon to get something in Fiorentina.'Our priority is to win our two games that remain and we will keep trying. "Miracles? They happen, particularly at Liverpool.'
