McDaid closing in on comeback

The 23-year-old former Leeds trainee completed 30 minutes for a Doncaster XI in a behind-closed-doors friendly with Sheffield United without any problems following a knee injury that has kept him sidelined since April 2008.A club spokesman said: "Sean did really well. He played a full 30 minutes and suffered no reaction whatsoever."He's was understandably buzzing after taking part in his first match for more than 18 months and everyone at the club is delighted for him."McDaid, who dislocated his knee in a practice game in April 2008, was close to a return to action last season, but broke down again and required surgery to rectify a further complication, which has ruled him out since.
