Liverpool's Degen to miss Merseyside derby as FA throw out red-card appeal

The FA have rejected Liverpool's appeal against Philipp Degen's sending off against Fulham.The Switzerland international will have to serve a three-match ban, missing the Merseyside derby against Everton on November 29 as well as the forthcoming Barclays Premier League matches against Birmingham and Manchester City.
